Badass Tacos!
food, foodtrucks, northloop ·I’ve been going to this badass little foodtruck right on 53rd / North Loop drive for awhile now, but I always have a hard time finding it on Google!
The guy that runs it is super friendly and I think his wife helps out as well.
The Al Pastor tacos are really fucking good. You gotta try em with what I believe the call the “Oro” sauce, it’s the yellowish golden one (they’ll give you three when you go up to the counter to pick up your food). It’s smooth and spicy with a nice lingering finish that sits with you and gives you a little flush to the cheeks but not enough to light your mouth on fire.
This morning I got two migas tacos with bacon added (for the hangover). I did the gold sauce on one, the green “mild” sauce on the other. Honestly I thought I’d like the gold sauce one better, and I did at first, but the green mild sauce is slightly more watery but with a really nice light almost refreshing taste that turned out to just go really well with the crunchy texture of the migas and bacon.
God what a great way to start the day.
